How to Keep Your Futon Mattress from Slipping

Keeping my mind busy by Deb Stgo. Used under CC BY.

Futons are useful for a number of reasons. They help you save space, they’re a lot better to sleep on than a traditional pull-out sofa bed, and for the most part they’re pretty inexpensive.

That being said, if there’s one annoying thing about futons it’s when the mattress starts slipping off of the frame.

Today we’re going to present to you a solution to this conundrum and it comes in the form grips – Grip Strips.

This being the Futon Grip Strip.

An ester based polyurethane foam. The same used in some forms of packaging to keep deliverables in place when in route.

After acquiring the Grip Strip proceed to:

Step 1

Measure the slats on your futon frame and cut accordingly.

Step 2

Peel the paper off the adhesive. This stuff can get really sticky, so you’re better off cutting beforehand.

Step 3

Once you have measured, cut and peeled the strips, stick them to the slats and apply pressure.

That is all takes to stop your futon mattress from slipping off your frame.
